Celebrations of St. Nicholas in Nancy

At the beginning of December, the Town of Nancy in the Lorraine region of France celebrates Saint Nicholas. There is a huge Christmas parade where Saint Nicholas makes his way through the Stanislas Square and stands on the balcony of the town hall, where all the people can see him.

In Lorraine, Saint Nicholas is a very popular tradition. Every year, more than 100,000 people take to the streets of Nancy during the two days of the St Nicholas' celebrations. During the Saint Nicholas parade, people can see the beauty of the Stanislas square, which is one of the jewels of the 18th century and part of UNESCO World heritage.
